Make-up tips
Saw a makeover show on TV last week. Decided to try the blue eyeshadow look when I was doing nothing in my room. So here goes:
Well, the result might not be the optimum, bcoz I only used what I can find in my makeup bag. And having seen the pics, I think I might have used too little makeup. The colors are not bold and striking enough to pass as a mini smoky eyes look. Whatever. It's not as if I'm professional. This is as good as it can get.
Anyway, I'm giving a few personal tips here if you'd like to try this at home. Generally, a shade of blue looks nice on Asian eyes. But it's risky to put on blue eyeshadow at the same time, as wrong application will make your eyes look puffy. So, rule number one: DO NOT smear blue eyeshadow ALL OVER your eyelids. You have to contrast it with darker shades such as dark brown or black. What I did was I only used blue on the middle part of my eyelids and I blended in black eyeshadow and eyeliner to complete the look. This way your eyes look deep and concave instead of looking blotchy. Curl eyelashes and apply mascara to enlarge eyes.
More tips:
- If you're using eyeshadow which is in powder form, it tends to fade after a short period. So before applying it, use eyeliner pencil on your upper lids. Draw a bold line and smear it with your middle finger. This way the powder will stick on to the eyeliner and it will last longer. It also enhances the color of your eyeshadow.
- If you have fair skin, light blue looks sweet on you. But if you have a dark skin tone, you should not use light blue because it will make your skin look darker. It also makes you look pale. Personally, I always prefer electric blue.
- Bold eyebrows can actually enlarge your eyes.
- If you have small eyes, do not draw full eyeliner as it will make your eyes look even smaller. Start from the middle part. The line should be thinner at the start and bolder towards the end.
The items I used to achieve the look:
The black eyeshadow from the big eyecolor palette, Za 10CT eyeshadow (dark brown & beige), Loreal Holographic (xenon blue), Za Ever Liner for eyes (white), Maybeline Line & Design Auto Natural Brow Liner (gray), Maybeline Line & Design Eye Liner (velvet black), Maybeline Line & Design Auto Eye Liner (blue black), Loreal Volume Shocking construction mascara (black), Loreal Double Extension mascara (black).

aww... the ur eyelashes kinda sucks...
i mean the way u apply the mascara.
just a comment, u should use a tiny brush to comb ur eyelash. or use a tiny make up forcep.
btw, the eye shadow blend is nice.
oh i don't use tiny brushes. i use SAFETY PINS actually. to separate the lashes.
that's when i'm free enough to do that, though. haha.
